Nicholas Patricios, an architectural historian, is the author of five published books listed above and of over fifty articles in international and national journals. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the American Academy in Rome during which time he carried out extensive research on the architecture and art of Early Christian churches in the city. He was also a Visiting architectural faculty member at the University of Michigan and UCLA. Patricios is the recipient of many academic, research, and professional awards, has been a Fulbright Fellow and the co-leader of an Earthwatch expedition. For the Coral Museum he curated an exhibit on Phineas Paist, a pioneer architect of the city.
His teaching specialization has been architectural theory and architectural history with a focus on the humanistic approach to architecture. At the University of Miami, he served as Master of Stanford Residential College and as chairman or member of many university and school committees. Patricios also practices as an architectural an urban design consultant and is still involved in many community activities.
He is a recipient of a PhD degree from University College London, a graduate diploma in town and regional planning awarded with distinction from the University of Manchester along with the Heywood Medal, and an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Witwatersrand and the award of the Gresty Prize.
